I bought a used FPIII off eBay that I'm rebuilding. The Sweetest Whispers are toast. I tried taking them apart to clean/repair but I just made things worse. Can someone recommend a suitable replacement? Something sourced from Mouser or Digikey is preferable.

Are you talking about the 12 position Lorlin-UK switch.  I have a pair with resistors installed and a pair w/o resistors you are welcome to one pair.  I never did like the low number of positions, and the Lorlin switch seemed to me rather fragile.  I now only use Khozmo Acoustic 48 positions attenuators, excellent quality and price, you also get to chose better quality resisters but always at a higher cost.

Thanks for the gracious offer Lee. I've thought some more about this and decided that I'll probably buy an pair of un-populated Elma switches from Goldpoint. I'll stuff it with some Vishay/Dale RN55 resistors. This will also allow me to stay closer to the original 15k design spec of the FPIII and give me better step resolution. The Khozmo Acoustic 48's are super nice but not within my budget at the moment. Plus those things look like they are HUGE!

Thanks again for the offer.
