Is using RCA short plugs on inputs safe?

It should be, I think, but I want to double-check.

I'd like to do it for aesthetic reasons mostly. In theory it should reduce noise if inputs cross-talk and some are unused, but they don't really do that in my case. I have Crack and Mainline. I've modded Crack by embedding the DAC, but it still has unused original input RCAs behind a switch.

Also, in case you know, is it safe to use those on COAX inputs in DACs, also mostly for aesthetics.

None of our products are bothered by shorting plugs on the inputs.
