Title: OT8 for 8 ohm question
Post by: ramalamadingdong on November 12, 2015, 12:20:05 PM
I wired according to the manual, but upon reading the directions further, it looks like the wiring is backwards. I'd have to cross the wires over themselves or reverse the transformer. Anyone else have this issue? Did I wire the trans former backwards and not realize it? Help! I've come so far!

There was a batch of OT-1s that had backwards lugs. This was a while ago, though, and those transformers got labels specifying the error. Can you provide pictures of what this looks like?

If I knew who you were, I could look up your order and figure out if it was old enough to be possible...

july of last year

They had the labels, but they said to follow the wiring directions for the transformer, which I have. Should I just turn them around then?

If the wires are going to the correct numbers that are molded into the bobbins, then you're good to go.  I do not believe that wire length will be much of an issue, I would not turn them around.

Sounds like I got it right then. I've checked the numbers 2 or three times. I may be going slow, but I'm going carefully!
