I need ideas for a subwoofer to go with Blumenstein Orca's and the Stereomour.

I've got the old style Orca's coming in (running the new version now to tide me over until the old style are done - long story...) and am running them on the Stereomour V1.  They certainly need a sub and at the moment I'm back on the budget.

Any recommendations for a small, powered sub?  At or under $300?  $200 would be better.  Crossover would be at 90 to 100 hz and I'm not looking for crazy low end bass.  If it'll touch into the upper 30hz I'd be happy.  DIY ideas are welcome.

I've not played in the subwoofer arena successfully before.

Certainly fits the budget!  And I have a couple of the small '70's Sansui integrateds that should work as an amp; the AU222 and the AU3900.  I just need to split the DAC output and create a filter.

If you want to save some space you could also stick a TPA3116 amp into that sub enclosure. You could even tuck the power supply inside.

This TPA3116 amp might even have have a crossover filter and it is showing free returns for me, just in case it is total crap.

I was going to suggest using the CSS SDX-10 driver, but it seems there's been quite a large price increase over the past few years.  Three years ago, it sold for $140, now they want $225.  Stick it in a small sealed cabinet and add an amp...

Another option - looks like this one is just a driver, a port, and plans to build a box for $150.  You'll need to provide an amp.  Not much other detail is given.

I'm sure most plate amps for subs would give good results, or you can use the recommended Crown XLS amps with built in crossover.
