Double check the wattage rating. I think it's 1/2 watts.

A 22K 1/2W resistor from an electronics parts supplier will get the job done.

Yeah, you guys are right, it's a 1/2w. My bad, and thanks!

Just thought I'd update you guys on my build. I got my resistor pack in the mail, and went ahead and installed the 22K resistors as per the stock set up, terminals 1-2 and 4-5 I believe it was. I think I'm just one of those people that prefers the character and sizzle of the stock crack and its tube distortion, as I really love the sound that I now have back. I frankly missed it. I think I'll stick with this set up from now on, it's quite satisfying and unique to me. Thanks for the help and discussion, everyone!

I just did the same - replaced the smaller Speedball board with the resistor loads. The sweet, warm, harmonic distortion filled sound I enjoy is back! Even without this board I don't find the bass to be muddy, or bloated at all. In fact, I find it punchier. I left the larger board intact. Any impact the larger board has on the sound is too small for me to notice without proper A/B'ing.

I guess I'm in same boat as the other folks from this thread, I built my Crack and absolutely loved the sound; after giving it a listen for about a week - added the small Speedball board and got thrown away. I've tried to let my ears adjust for a few days but nope, didn't like it.. so I pulled it out and put the 22.1K resistors back.
Now it's all back good again - but I have never even tried the large Speedball board - and now - I don't even know if I should. Guys who removed the small board keeping the large one in - how do you feel if changes from the large board alone are worth it?

For everyone who experienced these impression after installing the speedball I'd suggest checking out a Mullard CV4003 before giving up on the speedball. It really brings back some of that mid range magic without the added distortion.

- Not affiliated with me at all but saw this listed at a good price:
