Somehow I did not know of Julius Sumner Miller. Brilliant. He reminds me much of my favorite physics prof when I was at Berkeley in the 70s, Fred Reif. He was another character who had a great commitment to teaching, and I still remember clearly his demos - shoot the monkey, the mouse trap chain reaction, etc. If you can't enjoy the wonder of something enough to make it fun to learn, why bother teaching it?
