Yes, I would just replace the big board.  They are difficult to rework if you attempt to pull transistors off. 

Do also keep in mind that many consumer electronics products contain hundreds (if not thousands) of transistors, and none of these devices would ever work properly if even the tiniest percentage of these devices came defective from the manufacturer.
