Finishing up my first crack build right now, but I haven't finished the wood at all yet. After sanding I was thinking about applying some General Finishes High Performance Water Based Topcoat, Semi-Gloss that I have sitting out here on the workbench. Wondering if anyone else has used this specific product, and has good results?

Or is there another General Finishes product that is superior for this application? Figured if I have it here already....

I am looking for a clear/ clear-ish coat/stain on the wood.

Thanks!

I would try a bit on the inside of the wood base and you can see if you like the result.

Check out the Kit Assembly Gallery: https://forum.bottlehead.com/index.php?topic=11205.0. There are a bunch of pics of various finishes. Lots of good ideas there. And this topic is also worth a look, Topic: safest and easiest to use, dry and dispose wood finish https://forum.bottlehead.com/index.php?topic=14836.0
