Getting a good start on my build but have a question on determining the best wiring impedance for my Klipsch RF-7ii.

They spec at 8ohm and 101bB sensitivity but I've been reading across the web more realistic numbers of 4-8 ohm and 97bB.

What impedance would be best in your opinion? Thank you.

I'm assuming you're referring to this? I don't know how to interpret that with respect to predicting the best impedance match. Maybe someone else can.

I'm not trying to be too technical about it but was curious if 4 or 8 would be a better when wiring the output transformers.

I've been using my S3X at 4 ohms and they seem to do OK. I will no longer use the S3X as a speaker amp once the Stereomour is built.

The setup will be near field with speakers pointed directly at my listening position from no more than 12 feet away.

The answer to this question is always, "try both and see" but I would start with 8...John

It may sound a little thin in the bass at 8 ohms due to the 3.5-ohm impedance dip - unless there is a room resonance around 150-200Hz to compensate. Normally, a dip below 5-6 ohms would indicate 4 ohms is likely to be best, but room acoustics plays such a big role, it's usually worth trying other impedances.

For what it's worth, Stereomour has a bit more damping than S.E.X.

If 4 ohms sounds better, you can even try 2 ohms!
