I managed to blow the fuse that came with my kit, and my local hardware store only had 1.25A fuses in stock. Is this safe to use or should I go to some other stores / mail order a 1A fuse?

Thanks a bunch for any help.

It's fine. But make sure you know why the fuse blew in the first place before you replace it and fire the amp back up.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure I know how I blew it. I passed my resistance checks, failed a voltage check, tried to fix it be reflowing a couple of solder points and replacing a wire, and went straight back to voltage checks without doing resistance checks first (oops!) - turns out there were some resistances that I messed up.

It passes all the resistance checks again but I couldn't check voltage after the fuse blew. Hopefully all is well now.
