So after installing my Mundorf silver/oil caps, I read a few posts about caps and temperature limits. Got a temp probe and am measuring the temperature inside the kaiju. The probe is situated on the cap between the cap and the wire wound resistor. I figure this is the hot spot. Amp has been running for a couple of hours. Room temp is 71. The temp is right around 100 F.
My base is a bit deeper than stock but I doubt that makes much difference. I have the standard feet so it is possible a bigger gap could provide a bit more airflow. At any rate, seems like a comfortable margin. Maybe if a put a really hot musician on . . .
