Just received my Eros 2, initial impressions very professionally packaged/prepped. The top plate is a straight grain finish, I would prefer a swirl pattern. Not a big deal but if it is something that I can do myself..... ;D

It takes a metal drill cup brush, a drill, and some patience.

Would a random orbit sander work or is the above the best method? Aside from patience how difficult would you say it is to get a nice looking finish?

Hi to all.
Green scotch brite could be less aggressive or a brass brush.

Just keep it cold to avoid deformation.

My2 cents.

I think you are going to have a tough time hiding the existing 120 grit grain pattern with a wire brush. It would probably be worthwhile to sand it to a smooth 400 grit finish before attempting the jeweling.

Yeah, I decided the existing finish would ake it more difficult, already started my build.  ;D
