How to wire a Goldpoint volume control

So I'm at the top of page 25 on the third step

( ) Attach the red wire at the free end of the
cable to the center terminal of the lower set
of terminals ( that is, closest to the chassis
plate) on the volume potentiometer. Solder
this connection

This is the right output of the volume control correct?

And the seventh step

( ) Attach the red wire of the 3/4” end to the lower terminal of the potentiometer that is nearest the
headphone jack. Solder this connection.

This is the right input of the volume control correct?

Sounds right to me, just make sure you keep the shield connections the same, i.e. shield from both cables join together and terminate at point 13 & 23.

got the right wired up no problem.  The length of wire mentioned in the directions will work just fine.  No need to adjust.

got the left wired up.  I would add 1/2" to the lengths of wire for the first and fifth step on page 26.  Since the goldpoint control is taller you might need the extra bit of length.
