Hi everyone,

My apologies in advance for this newbie question but I have to start somewhere.
I might already be worrying about stuff that I needn't worry about but still I want to ask the following.

The Eros is an upcoming build together with the Stereomour II. Somehow it came to my mind that I find it important that the input resistors 47K 1/8W are upgraded soon after completing the stock build. Again, I might be getting ahead of myself. I would like to replace them with the 47K TX2575 resistors as I've read numerous comments about the subtle improvements across the board. These TX resistors are rated 0.4W and the stock resistors are rated 1/8W. Would I be able to use a 0.4W component in place of a 1/8 or 125mW rated resistor at that position?

If not for upgrading purposes then, maybe, for general technical understanding. :)

If the TX2575 has a power rating of 2W could they be used in place of the supplied 47K 2W plate load resistors? Not counting the 4 pieces used in the Shunt reg. To my understanding these two positions might affect audio quality.

Please do tell me if I'm wasting my time with this pursuit.  ;) :o

Thanks in advance!

Wattage rating isn't important for that particular resistor.  Please build the kit with the stock parts first though, as swapping out parts can make debugging much more difficult.  The low noise spec for the TX2575 won't be particularly helpful here, and we supply a milspec part already for this position, so do consider that before spending $35 on a pair of resistors.

They don't.

The 47K and 75K plate loads are most certainly in the signal path, but you'll need beefier parts for those positions, and it will help if those parts have longer leads that I remember the TX resistors having.

Hi Paul, thanks for your insights!

When I contacted Texas Components they told me they connect several resister elements to achieve the higher power rating. But that's way beyond my knowledge. I trust your judgement and will wait for the stock build to sing before making any adjustments at this level.

Thanks again!
