Hi all,
Lately my headphone jack struggle's mating with the crack headphone receptacle. Frequently the sounds drops on the left side with loud popping crackling noises. I have to unplug re-plug the jack multiple times and try multiple turns in the receptacle for it to deliver sound on both channels without losing contact. Do I just have a bad headphone female connector?

Thanks,
A

I would be almost certain that you have a solder joint in your amp that needs to be reheated and reflowed.  When you insert and pull out the cable, you are moving these connections and temporarily restoring proper operation.

Thanks, I have used this crack for more than a year and never faced any issues. About 2 months ago I put the speedball upgrade and even then never faced any issues. Only recently have I run into this issue (last 2 weeks) When I put in the speedball I don't remember touching any of the headphone jack connections. I will however re-check these connections again.

A marginal connection can exist in a circuit for 50 years before it shows up.

Thanks for the advice, I re-flowed one joint which looked sketchy and it so far appears to have solved the issue.
