Resistor Question
« on: June 09, 2020, 07:33:47 AM »
Hi Paul,

Why does the Quickie use a 220 ohm carbon composition resistor instead of a metal film?

Thanks,

Cary

Carbon composition resistors are very much non inductive, so they are an ideal grid stopper resistor.  We found over the years that they are somewhat delicate, so we have mostly transitioned away from carbon composition resistors to carbon film resistors that hold up a bit better during installation.

He was pretty generous with them.  He just weighed in today at the doctor's office in the 97th percentile for his age, so maybe I won't give him quite so many next time.
