Hail and farewell

My kit-building career has come to an end with my decision not to build an Eros.  I already have five phono preamps, including two Seductions, and seven power amps, in two serious systems, all but two built by me.  If the Eros clearly outstripped the other phonos, I'd love them less, which would make me sad.  If it didn't, it would do very little to increase my audio happiness.  Besides, there's no place to put anything new.

I want to thank Paul Joppa for several helpful bits of advice, and Paul Birkeland for his Seduction power supply redesign idea that worked out so well for me.  But most of all I want to thank Grainger Morrison for a huge amount of expert advice and help.  My usual practice was to convert his emails into WordPerfect documents, for safe storage, and I recently counted those up and saw that they reached the incredible total of 60!  Just about every kit I've built is better due to his generous help.

Finally, I should mention Queen Eileen, for her unfailing helpfulness and warmth.  She has put the icing on the cake of a very satisfying Bottlehead experience.

JC, I'd be most happy to pass on anything I've learned, from Paul Joppa, Paul Birkeland, and, last but not least, Grainger Morrison.  Hit me with a question or two and you'll get a quick reply, if I have one to offer.

That's what I wanted to hear!  Disseminating accumulated knowledge and experience is exceedingly important in this hobby, IMO, and forums like this are one of the better ways to keep the flame alive.

So, even if you don't anticipate any more building, please don't say "farewell" to participating.
