Hi,

I am thinking about how i want to finish my Jagers when I receive them.  Is the plywood surface cabinet grade?  Will it stain/dye better than standard birch plywood?

It is cabinet grade, no footballs. That said, birch in any grade can be splotchy when stained. Bets bet is to pre treat the birch with wood conditioner or a light coat of de-waxed shellac before staining.
