Check out this YouTube link for a really neat curved headphone stand.  Wish I had a cnc machine to do this!

Yeah, cnc is amazing.  I can't imagine having that as a hobbyist though, got to many expensive hobbies like stereo equipment and cycling.  Maybe if woodworking is your only hobby.

Find a suitable, cheap, wooden bowl and cut the rim off. Next steps up to you.

Cool idea, how would you cut that?  Not sure what the setup would be.  Radial arm saw?

I would just scribe a line and cut it with a thin blade hand saw, one of those Japanese pull saws would be ideal. A hacksaw would work if you're just doing the one...John

You might also be able to use the base of the bowl for the stand but you'd have to add some weight as they have done here. You may be able to find someone local who makes wooden bowls as a hobby. A similar stand might be a good project for them if you aren't too handy or have the tools.
Banana Stands/trees are cheap.😎
