Hi,

After getting good help here before, my SEX (3.0, C4S) is sounding great and I`ve been running it several hours everyday listening with my HD600 and LCD-2.2.

I recently got some iSine 10s (planar IEMS) and wanted to try them on the SEX, but when plugged in and with the volume turned all the way down, I`ve got a low level hum which increases with volume. The iSines are fairly sensitive and the specs are:

16 ohms
110/db/1mW (at Drum Reference Point)
Recomended power >50mW

I would guess that they just are way to sensitive for the SEX, and there`s nothing wrong with my amp.
Does that sound about right?

I`ve also been looking into the Audeze LCD-MX4, which have these specs:

20hms
105db/1mW (at Drum Reference Point)
Recomended power >250mW

Would these be ok with the SEX, with no hum?

Thanks again!

We have not yet run into a headphone that's too sensitive for the SEX amp in terms of noise.  If you have a hum that moves around with the volume control, that indicates an issue ahead of the SEX amp, not internal to the SEX amp.

It's also helpful to double check that terminal 36 isn't touching the nut on the adjacent power transformer screw, as that will introduce some additional noise.

Do you have the transformers wired for 4 or 8 ohms?

Ok, thanks. I`ll check that.

It`s wired for 4 ohms.
