Hi all, I am new here but I wanted to show off my new build since I am very proud. It is not 100% (i want to do a matching gold knob and put some gold symbols on the plate, maybe i can source more gold screws?) but its close enough.
The plate was powder coated black, and the wood chassis is old school black lacquer (think 1950s Gibson black beauties), the top edge was scrapped back to give it a natural binding look.
Jensen caps and an audionote pot are where i stopped for the audio mods and now im looking for some nice tubes to roll. Right now im amazed at the touch and texture it gives my HD6XX that no other amp has provided.

That scraped edge is a really nice detail.

Thanks, pics of all that black is hard on the phone camera but the edge still pops. The idea is used in high end archtop guitars. If theyre not using a separate binding they will tape and scrape the edge to create the contrast and show off the very pretty top wood. It also has a clear lacquer on top so it will age to a very fitting amber over time.

Looks classy!

Thank you! The idea was it wouldnt look out of place if it was on top of a grand piano or next to a jazz band. Blacks so inky it feels like you are reaching into a black pool.
