greetings again! I have discovered that my wonderful wife has ordered some crack for me >:)  so I'm eagerly awaiting my kit, meanwhile she has also purchased some head phones for me. Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B, I think these will be fine for the time being, they sound pretty good to me, but... and that leads me to my question, the cord that it came with is stupid short, it's male to male, it's the small jack not the large standard one, I'm not sure what the correct terminology is yet but I'm sure someone will fill me in, I need an extension or just a longer male to male, any suggestions for a decent cord that isn't going to set me back a bunch of cash? I wouldn't be offended spending up to $50 for a good cord in the 15'-25' range. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

The Grado extension cable should be fine. You can buy them on Amazon. Most folks seem to think it's pretty neutral sounding.

In the spirit of DIY, you could make one yourself. Grab a Neutrik gold plated TRS, Neutrik locking 1/4" female, and 15-25 feet of Canare or Mogami Starquad and you're good to go ;)
