Hello all, I'm brand new in here and this is my first post.

I am very interested in purchasing the Foreplay III kit, but I'm working in Japan and the mains AC is 100V, 60 Hz in my area, lower than that in the US.

Could someone please tell me whether the lower voltage would be detrimental to the Foreplay's functionality?

Some imported audio gear is modified for the voltage here, such as my McIntosh amp and iDecco DAC, but most items I've brought over from USA work fine here.

The short answer is that it should be fine. The B+ is regulated anyway so that much line variation shouldn't be an issue, and the heater voltage can be adjusted somewhat by altering the value of the resistor in the DC heater supply if deemed necessary. This is best determined by measuring the actual line voltage, or better yet, measuring the heater voltage in the completed preamp. If it is below 6VDC we can probably come up with a slight adjustment to that resistor that will get it into the most optimal range, but you may find that you needn't do anything but plug and play.
