Reduction phono amp
« on: February 17, 2022, 01:11:09 PM »
Hi, I finished my phono amp and was testing all the resistance and cap readings per manual BUT I had an issue with one reading on one of the lugs on terminal strip. I dug in and checked things out and for some reason I hhad an issue with resistor 47.5K (4752F). I unsoldered it and it broke. To order one takes about 3 to 4 weeks with USPS from Bottlehead. The spec for this resistor per bottlehead is 47.5k 1/8 watt. I found a resistor 47.5k +- 1% 400mw metal film resistor but its one 1/5 the size. Is the original a special resistor? I do not see why the smaller would not work. The original is 1/8 watt or 125mw. If the replament works I would replace both to have matched pair.
Thanks

Just to be clear here, it typically takes 3 to 4 weeks to get a kit, but we usually send out replacement parts within a day or two of the order.
