The least linear tube will, in theory, have the biggest influence when tube rolling. The 5670 is a very linear tube, but the 300B is the queen of linearity (and the 845 is king). So it stands to reason that swapping 5670s will have a little more impact than swapping 300Bs.

The cost of tube rolling 300Bs is the main concern with that. since they seem to vary from $175-$3000 a pair. Where as the 5670 are $10-$100 besides the exceedingly rare ones.

I will probably try a mesh pair of 300Bs since they see to be a little different, structurally, from the other 300Bs.

Would I need to modify my Kaiju if I use the EML 300B? I see it is listed as ~1.3A. Or would it be close enough to the 1.2A that it wouldn't require modding the Kaiju?

I have a set of 5670 to 6sn7 adapters. I decided to try the 6sn7 on the Kaiju and it didn't seem to affect the volume level any. I didn't run it long enough to see if there was any change to the bass quality.

Yeah I keep forgetting that the 6SN7s mu is a bit higher than some of the other similar dual triodes.  The gain difference between the two should only be somewhere around 3-4dB, so not the end of the world.

I didn't end up having to adjust the volume after putting in the 6sn7 tube going from the stock 5760 tubes. I'm guessing it cuts more off on the top end of the volume. Though, I don't really know.

Will 12au7 tubes work on the Kaiju?

If you could find an adapter, they will function in the circuit but with some start-up stress that isn't completely desirable.

Okay, thank you for the response. I doubt I would be able to find a decent adapter to use that them.
