Left channel gets quiet
« on: March 17, 2023, 09:11:20 AM »
Having some odd issues, starting today, my left channel will slowly fade out. When I turn the balance to the left it slowly comes back. Then I turn it back to center and it does out again. Thoughts. Tried multiple inputs. Going to try another power amp next time it happens.

Have you tried swapping tubes side to side?

I didn’t problem did not follow the tube. It hasn’t done it in a while. But happened a couple times today. Next time it does it I am going to connect my other power amp and see if I can replicate it.

A slow fade out probably would come with a change in voltage that could point where the issue may lie.  I would predict a flaky solder joint that is jostled back into operation when you move the balance control.
