Hi again,

I noticed that there are two faint hum/ringing noises around 1450hz and 60hz respectively that I can hear constantly (it almost sounds like what having a normal amount of tinnitus sounds like when in a quiet room). I originally thought it was just my ears that were ringing slightly, but taking off my headphones confirms its coming from the crack + speedball. I would say it potentially started after doing the diode mod, but it could have also been after installing the speedball. This hum occurs regardless of the volume, or anything hooked up to the inputs. I have also tried moving the crack around the room to eliminate my desktop as the source of the noise.

The noise does not occur immediately when the crack is switched on. Rather, it occurs about 30 seconds after turning it on (so there is a brief [~20 second] period where it has warmed up to where it can play audio, but without the humming noise. I checked all solder joints to make sure it was not just a bad solder joint. I couldn't find any.

The noise immediately disappears when power is switched off (as opposed to fading out like music does when powered off). It is also louder in the right ear.

EDIT: It appears the issue was the 6080 tube. Replacing it you can still almost make out a hum, but at least its not distracting. I will leave this up in case anyone else has similar issues. Mods feel free to remove.
