Still enjoying big Time stereomour II. Will soon add a dac with much lower output voltage and the Need to increase gain Will became a reality. Is the beepree2 the inique choice(Will Need to save before buy) or the moreplay might be a choice as well? What Is the main Sonic signature of the Two when compared? Bottom line,Will the moreplay increase gain in my system succesfully or Will i get a decrease of the stereomour sound quality ,unless i use a beepre? Thanxs

How much gain do you need? Can't really answer this question well without knowing. What is the peak output voltage of the DAC?

Dac Is 2v compared to actual 2.6. Speakers are 88db and i estimate i Need 6-9db max gain extra compared to today

Probably you can calculate Better based on 2.6 vs 2 Volts dac out

The gain of the Stereomour is about 8x, and 3.5W into 8 ohms is 5.3V.  You will want a minimum of 0.7V of signal going into the Stereomour to push it to full power with the volume control at maximum.  I do not think you need a preamp.  You can grab a little bit of extra gain by bypassing the cathode bias resistors on the 12AT7s if absolutely necessary.
