I noticed last night that the -7.5 db position on the fine adjustment is a bit finicky. When I put a little pressure on the knob, there is some fluctuation in volume which does not happen on any other position. So, yeah, solder joint issue. Which terminal would that correspond to?
Thanks, Jay

I would examine the solder joints where the ends of all the fine resistors are grounded.  It's totally possible that the end of that particular resistor just isn't well captured by solder.
