Hey everyone!   Sharing something that was driving me nuts this past week.  I've been playing the cap game with my SEX3.0 trying some Audyn copper max caps for the 1.5 uf and 0.1 uf spot.  Side note - these caps are a PITA to solder - the leads are stranded and each individual strand has some impenetrable red epoxy coating.  So I was happily playing around , really nice sounding caps by the way, decided to stick some other tubes in , why not.  Started getting this random popping sound out of the right channel.  Swapped original tubes back, swapped tubes back and forth R/L -  popping out of right speaker.  It was driving me nuts. Decided to pull the Audyn caps and stick put some Mdorf caps in as the cap swap was the only change so must have been the problem, right?    Nope - still popping randomly R side.  Said heck with it and put the stock ones back in -  same thing.  Figured I must have had some complications during the cap surgery but nothing stuck out in my mind.  Decided to take a few days off. . .

Somewhere along the line I stumbled across Doc's article about cleaning tubes with a q-tip.  Well, you already know what happened now.  The tubes didn't seem dirty and I even hit them with Deoxit before all of this.  I went to town with some fine metal polish, Dremel and handful of q-tips. Plugged them in/out a few times with fresh deoxit.  Well . . . fired it up and, perfection!   Absolutely silent. Couldn't believe my ears.  Happy camper now :)  Thanks Doc!
