I am attempting my first build and am nearly finished assembling the chassis but I am missing the 4: #8 round lock washers that go on the top of the transformer cover. Should I skip the washers? I have sent a message to Doc B asking if he could send a set to me, but have not yet heard back from him.

This size lock washer should be readily available at your local hardware/renovation center for pennies each. Theoretically they should help prevent the power transformer from parting company from the rest of the amp but seems to me very unlikely to happen. OTOH I might be completely mistaken as regards the function of these washers!

Ace Hardware sells single washers, Lowes/Home Depot sells bags at a time.

I use Ace a lot.  I would just buy them... but...

If you call the Queen Monday morning she will send you the parts first class mail, usually 3 days.
