I've been trying the Tape Project forums, but they have been off line for a while. So I thought I would show ya'll my latest machine. Before this deck, I spent the last 30 years with only 4 track machines. I still have three, but this Tascam BR-20 blows them away. You just might recognize the reference material. My buddy brought some of his tapes so I could hear what this deck can do: sublime.

The BR20 is a fantastic transport. Doesn't sound bad but still gets benefited, a lot, by using external electronics (Seduction or Eros). Differently from other machines the heads are very low impedance and gain (inductance?). I used SUTs. The good thing about the BR20 is that you can do this with the playback head and still use the record head to playback with the internal electronics since the machine allows for this and both heads are of the same type.

Not at all surprising.  What continues to baffle me is where you find all the vintage top shelf goodies.

Congratulations on the addition!

Good Karma. You never know when the person you treated well may have the ability to return the favor 10 fold.
