Now that I have been listening to my Stereomour with Orca speakers for over a month, I can say that the amp exceeded even my highest expectations. I also have to credit some members on this forum for getting me to switch the driver tube. I am running an NOS Mullard and a pair of JJ 2A3's. I recently had my boss over for dinner in order to listen to this amp and speakers. He is a true audiophile and has some VERY nice equipment at his home. He came armed for a serious test of the Stereomour with several of his favorite test CD's. He would have brought albums but I don't have a turntable. He has a very nice turntable that he listens to. His first impression was almost disbelief. While listening to "Take Five" by Dave Brubeck, he got up several times to look at the speakers. He could not believe that these little drivers were imaging so well. Even the string bass came through clearly. He kept shaking his head. I showed him the schematic of the Stereomour and he was intrigued with the parafeed architecture. He has built several tube amps and had not seen this configuration before. He also is an avid Ham radio fan and has a very large tube collection. The bottom line is that he said that my system changed his thinking about what it took to get high end performance. He now wants to set up this amp in a true listening environment so he can really assess its capability. I love this little amp. I have also just started building another one for my pastor. I may build others in the future as I spread the word about what I believe to be an incredible amp that is great sounding and easy to build.

Thanks for the nice words, Randy! The original Paramour was my first design for Bottlehead, and it's been my favorite child ever since. Along with the SEX amp, it has always been conceived as a way to make SET and DHT sound available to as many people as possible.

Randy,

Don't you just love the disbelief that comes from the Orcas and Bottlehead?  I have had violent reactions, "Damn it, where is the music coming from?" with no belief when I tell them the speakers in front of them.  "That can't be true!"

My brother in law wanted to know, "How do you do that?"  "That" means floating the images.

It is too much fun blowing a real listener's mind.

Hi Randy,

Have a look at the threads regarding the SR-45 amp.

If you think what you got now is good, be prepared to be blown away...John
