Hi all,

Hoping you can help. I've just completed the installation of a Speedball into a previously working Crack. All measurements are accurate (except for slightly high voltage on 13 or 15, can't remember, but it's only a little over 10% out).

Everything appears to be working, but instead of sweet sweet music I am hearing harmonics from the tubes (if I move the amp slightly while adjusting volume) and no other sound at all!?

Any ideas what I should be checking?

I'm going to go and check the signal input path now, but would be surprised if both channels lost connection from the RCAs at the same time.

Thanks,

Lachlan

Nevermind. It appears to be a dud tube. I was using an old tube for testing so as not to destroy a good one. Didn't realise that the tube was so completely stuffed as it worked (albeit to an average level only) last time I used it.
