I do not have any issues with my gear but was wondering how do you recognize that a tube is going bad? I had some low level sporadic squealing in one channel of my Foreplay last year and replaced the 12AU7s and the squealing stopped. Are there other indicators of impending tube failure?

When I wore out my Sovtek output tubes in my Paramours the sound got flat, flabby and kind of muddy.  Sometimes the 12AU7s lose all definition and get bad treble.

Squealing is often simply from dirty tube pins.
