In a thread discussing the merits of 300b or 2a3 operation it was suggested by PJ that it is possible to run a 300b in place of the DC coupled 2A3 by keeping the 5 volt supply unchanged. Anyone tried this, and would you mind sharing your impressions?

My impression is that 300Bs get to be there best when they get some serious current running through them. Running them at 2A3 type current might not give the same level of cojones.
