Hi,

I just installed the speedball in a perfectly working crack. All leds light up. On the left side of the big board, the two leds light up immediately on startup, whereas the other leds take some more seconds. Tubes light up. I check components, leds are in the right orientation, transistors on the right board and right orientation Voltages are bad (although they were already high, but not THAT high in the initial build).

I narrowed everything down to a strange thing. At the right O and terminal 9 and B6, voltage is "staying" (piling up?), around 250 V, even minutes after I switch everything off. If I test the voltage with the crack on, it goes down from 250V to around 170V. Is my 100uF cap broken ? By the way, I busted my cheap DMM by touching T6 and O :-S

1 (O)  106V (75V)
2 (I)  264V (170V)
3 (G)  0V
4 (I)  264V (170V)
5 (O)  106V (75V)

6 0V
7 153V (100V)a
8 0V
9 Around 200V going down when measuring (100V), stabilizing around 172V
10 0V

A1  106V
A2  0
A3  2.17V
A4  0
A5  0
A6  106V
A7  0
A8  2.17V
A9  0 V

The the offending side of the large green PC board, resolder all the joints on the TIP50C, especially that center leg.

By process of elimination (which you allowed us to do by posting all of your voltages, thank you), you have every component properly installed in the Speedball kit, so it just comes down to a broken wire or bad solder joint.
