Wow,.. that's a new one on me. I did have a USCF rating of 1922 the last time I played in a chess tournament but that age thing,.. damn damn damn!
After spending a lot of time around chess geeks, I can easily see how things could have come to this state.

We actually had to call the cops at a tournament when one of the players, who I'd played earlier in the day, pulled a gun out of his rucksack and started spouting gibberish.
That was the last time our chess club was allowed in the local Blind Center who'd somehow missed the trail of meeting/tournament venues we'd already been kicked out of.
Ahh,.. those were the days.
I really don't know where the general public ever got the idea that chess players are civilized,.. or even housebroken!
