I'm gonna plug Ccleaner one more time for folks with PCs. Eileen was having trouble logging in to our admin panel for the website last night. We first went into Chrome and tried clearing cookies and 7 days of history, with no luck. After I ran Ccleaner she logged in no problem. On my iPad i needed to go into Safari password settings and clear out the URL for the admin panel and then go to the admin page and simply log in. These kinds of approaches should probably work for forum log in too.

The other thing we have been hearing about is that people are having trouble logging in to the new shopping cart with their old user account. The customer registration info was not transferrable from our crappy old cart to this cool new one, and thus you will need to set up a new customer account the first time you place an order on the new store. You can also order as a guest.

I had to restart my home router. It worked fine on my phone while on cell service but wouldn't work on wifi. Everything works well now.

With Firefox, I never have to log in. But it still won't give me "unread posts since last visit" - I have to get all unread posts, and check the dates.
Have you tried clicking "Mark All Messages Read" to reset the timestamps on all threads (since the site was upgraded)?  You may need to have a clean start.

Strangely this seems to have done the trick & all works well now. Thanks Murray (from a fellow Kiwi).

Another thing I did, which I'm not sure has been mentioned: delete all Bookmarks/Favourites pointing to BH.
Had several different ones with links to certain pages I wanted, so get rid of those before you reinstate them.

I have one remaining small issue.  It really is just a minor niggle, but I no longer have a favicon image in my saved links in Firefox (just a blank grey dashed-line rectangle).  It seems fairly common that these disappear for a while when websites get upgraded and sometimes clearing cache, etc. can get it reloaded.  No luck with that here. Is everyone else seeing the favicon?  The Favicon is a small square "Bottlehead" icon image that is displayed in the Firefox Tab, and with any saved links.  If no-one's seeing it, then maybe it wasn't copied across in the upgrade.

Nope! The I get the generic default favicon.  No more mini BH.  :(

I know I saw the favicon loaded in the admin controls. I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

No probs with IE. My favourite set to Bottlehead General. I've changed nothing.

A few more data points. I deleted the cookies in Firefox this morning. The forum had me log in and show new post worked.

This evening, I tried again, still have to log in but show new post not working. For giggles I logged  in on my work laptop, running IE 8, which I do not use as a rule to visit this or other forums. The same, no new post. I log out go back to my home (Firefox) comp to post this, and show new post brings up a few from today and a couple from months  ago which I may have not read. This without making any changes. My i pad and Samsung tablet work fine.

I don't have any  trouble when I visit other forums that run "Simple Machine"...John

Dan,

I have a problem.  When I click on an included, I believe Bottlehead hosted, picture it ends up being 3 times the width of my screen.  I can't see the picture well at all.

This has been happening only since the new upgrade.

Thanks....

Ditto here - Win 7, Chrome.  Do users have to reduce their image size prior to uploading?  I've always done so (even when I linked to my own host).  Uploading a 4000 x 3000 image is asking for trouble unless SMF can auto-resize.   I'd think that perhaps a 1000 px max horizontal size would eliminate the problem.

There's a slider bar to let you scroll around the image, but it should indeed be tweaked a bit.

Seriously,  was saying I need to adjust the slider twice to see all of the picture.  The photos I'm thinking of also are so tall that I can only see about 1/3 of them at a time.
