Hi guys.
I purchased an Alps RK40/ Black Beauty off ebay.
I want to try and cram it into the Crack(Yes I know how it sounds :o)
Below is the inside of my Crack(Yep, not helping there)

Although I dont find it particularly elegant, I was thinking of drilling in the area I painted red.
Thus I would be able to move the B card to the left and make room for the Alps Black(outlined)

Or I could use electrical tape. Any other ideas? Would much appreciate it!

How about cutting a small strip off of one of those cheap thin plastic ptfe bread boards. Make the strip long enough to span the two stand off's holes. Fix the strip on the side which you intend to move to the stand off with a counter sunk machine screw so its flush with the top of the bread board and the other side as normal through both the pcb and then bread board into the stand off. You will then be able to reposition the loose pcb and fix it in place through the original pcb's fixing hole into the bread board strip in a different position all should still be neatly mounted and secured in place.

Re reading the above I have not described it very well. Essentially you would be making a goal post shaped plastic frame which the pcb's can be moved along and refastened to.

I meant to ask is your black beauty a smooth action or the one with the indented steps?

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it once fitted. I noticed their is a Crack with a Kozomo stepper fitted that had a similar problem and got round it by just letting the small pcb board float without being fixed in place.

Thanks guys!

@Galyons: I also thought about that first but the larger PCB is in the way vertically.

@Jamie: Thank You very much for this very elegant solution. I will try to create a goalpost like You described. I still wait for the volume knob itself to show up in the mail. I have the one with 21 indented steps. I have measured it with my DMM and it checks out great. Has a very weighty but smooth feel. Was once in a Croft amp, I got it off ebay.
