Doc,

In the section pasted below, wouldn't it be more consistent and a little les potentially confusing to call the "center terminal" T3 instead?:

Nine pin socket A wiring
You will now install the two LEDs that set the bias voltage of the input tube. These
LEDs have a
silver band at one end of the red body. It is absolutely critical that they are installed
with this silver
band connected to the proper terminal.
( ) Attach the silver band end lead of one LED to the center terminal of the nine
pin socket A. Don

"Center terminal" means the center terminal right in the middle of the nine pin socket, not T3.

Ok, just looked at the socket -- never saw a 9-pin socket like that.  What is this connected to as I don't see any other connections listed in the manual for this point?

Just trying to understand what is probably very obvious to everybody else.

The center pin of the socket isn't connected to anything internal to the tube, but in the manual you will eventually run a wire from that terminal to terminal 3 (ground).

Ok, but that sort of brings us back to where I started :D.

I just didn't see the words "center terminal anywhere else in the manual except with regard to the RCAs and in the checkout section.

Thanks for the clarification,

Jim

That may be something that is only clear if you can see the picture.

Grainger,

I was doing my usual exercise of converting the pdf to a text file so I could prune it down to the necessary steps, eliminate all the blank space taken by photos and drawings, incorporate notes to myself, and fix the errata, when I came on the step about adding the wire from the center terminal of the tube socket to terminal strip lug 3, so I found it and now everything is crystal clear.

Hopefully I can make some good progress on this tomorrow.

Ok, think I've got it all sorted out, the corrections made, etc.

Now, can one of the BH folks tell me what gauge the supplied wire is?

Thanks,

Jim
