I'm glad to hear that things snapped into place.

Give it 20-50 hours to settle in, then slap that upgrade back in and you should be good to go.

Sounds good.  Do you think a solder joint issue on the 4007s was likely to be the issue, or may I have bumped something else when I was working in there?

I think you bumped into something else.

The UF4007's make the high voltage, and you had no low voltage.

You likely nudged a loose connection on the two fatter diodes that make ~12V, then restored operation to the preamp.
