hey guys, so i finally got my crack back, after PB awesomely took a crack at it. long story short, now it's finally up and running, although not without some hiccup (the headphone socket was a bit bigger than normal, as a result, my plug wasn't getting both channels out correctly, but i fixed it by bending one of the three headphone socket prongs).

i've noticed, sometimes, i would get interference sound coming out of the left channel. and it doesn't seem like it's cable related. because it doesn't matter if i turn the volume knob up or down, the interference sound does not change or go away. it comes and goes. when it's not there, the amp is totally silent, but when it's there, it sounds like an out of tune AM radio that doesn't have its channel spot on, the snowy effect sound (if that makes sense). and the weird thing is, the AM like interference sound only comes out of the left channel, the right channel is completely fine.

is this something with my amp? or is this something to do with outside RF interference?

This is most likely interference from either a cell phone or a wifi router. The intermittent-ness suggests cell phone.

thanks for the response Fullheadofnothing.

but do you think it's weird that it only does it on the left side? the right side doesn't seem to be affected.  :o

I'd call it unusual but not implausible.

you're probably right. last night it was doing it, and up until 12am i put on the headphone again and it was gone completely. the amp was on pretty much last night from when i got home until when i went to bed at 1am.

it's just so strange that it's only the left channel. oh well....

If you had a cell phone and computer near when you had the interference you should reintroduce the cell, then the computer.  Find which one is causing it.  Once armed with this knowledge you know what to do.
