Hey Doc,
What's the likelihood of orders getting out before Christmas?  Have we passed the cut off date for getting kits out, are there any kits readily assembled for us Christmas shoppers?

Yes, we are pretty much on the same 4 to 6 week turnaround on kits that we usually are. If you have something specific in mind it might be worth an email to Eileen to see what the delivery time might be. And of course we now have gift certificates that are instantly emailed to the recipient when you order them if your need is time critical.

To extend Dan's point about the 4-6 week turnaround, Christmas Day is 2 and a half weeks away...

Some of the orders currently in the queue will not make it for Christmas. We're doing as much as we can, but we are waiting on key parts on virtually every kit in our lineup. Several kits have VERY hefty waiting lists right now. I focus my effort on whatever kit has the oldest orders. Today I shipped some Quickies and Quicksands that went back to late October. I also worked on prepping Crack orders, also from October. I'm not sure yet when those Cracks will ship, as we are waiting on chassis panels, but I want them to be ready to ship as soon as those come in.

I'm one of those in the queue waiting shipping, I've got a Smash ordered 11/9.  I was just wondering if some of the other kits might be readily available, Quickie/Quicksands would make a fun project for the grandkids during there holiday, no worries though, there's plenty of modular kits at Fry's to work on with them.
I always seem to hit the hard/parts waiting queue when I buy something so I wanted to check in advance.

We appreciate everyone's understanding. Part of the reason we did the big Crack sale in October was so we could get those shipping before Christmas, and they have indeed been shipping. When you combine everyone taking advantage of that deal with Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals we are talking about a huge number of orders, in fact these are record months for us.

Our flow has been very smooth this year, but some of our suppliers have been getting a bit behind. It could be in part due to the greatly increased orders we have been sending them. As Josh said, he is getting things ready on every kit front, so that when that tardy part shows up it goes right in the box and the box goes out to the brown truck.

Even I was pulling and coiling wire the other day. You know it's busy if they are desperate enough to let me kit parts. I'm sure it drives Josh crazy to hear the "when I was the only kit packer" stories.

Smashes are working their way to the front of the queue. We have the iron and plates, and we have tubes for the first couple on the list (but not all the current orders). There are a couple small parts that we need, but they'll be coming from Mouser soon. If I'm recalling correctly, Smashes are after Mainlines and Todes. Generally I'm alternating between a Crack task and a non-Crack task. At this rate, I'd hope to have some Smashes out by the end of the week, or beginning of the next. It'll all depend on the rates our vendors get our supplies to us at.

Nothing is "readily available." Quicksands are more likely than Quickies, but even that's really pushing it (and adding a wood base would definitely push it into the "no" column).

How are situation with speedball upgrades? Almost 7 weeks has past since last shipment (25.10). I ordered my speedball 02.12 so I hope I will get it in January  :D

That October ship date is because we are finishing up the massive number of orders we got during the Crack sale, many of which included a Speedball upgrade. The number of orders for that month was about double the usual amount and maybe 40% higher than we expected to see. The date will move forward more quickly as soon as those last sale kits are shipped.

Our best estimate at this point is four to six weeks. You will most likely see it by mid January, and sooner if it we get lucky with supply from our vendors.

Looks like most everything up to the Black Friday sale has shipped. I imagine the next batches are big, but crossing my fingers for an early January shipment of Black Friday Cracks!

That is correct. The things left unshipped that were ordered pre-Black Friday are waiting on signal transformers. They should be shipping soon. When I get back in town after the holidays, that will be first priority. There will be a big Crack push, until we run out of wood (which is also on order). Parts shared between kits (like wood) will be parceled out by the sequence orders were placed. In other words, the earlier in the day an order was placed, the sooner it will ship.

How are things coming along? I was hoping to see the Black Friday Cracks shipping soon... am I too optimistic?
