Hi, forum

I was just wondering whether I could use a 200v 115mA transformer for the Crack (instead of the 150V 70mA secondary of the PT-3). In particular, I was looking at the Hammond 263AX (with a separate 6.3V 4A transformer for the filament).

Thanks
Sennder

What would be the motivation?

Thanks for the quick response, doc.

I tried my friend's crack with my HD 650s and fell in love. I'm trying to build my own replica. but I can't find a 150V transformer with a high enough current output.

Yeah, that's what I guessed. Basically, we support customers who buy our products. And basically, we don't support copying our designs with other parts.

There isn't any drop-in power transformer from Hammond that would work in the Crack.  The Crack power transformer is labelled with a rating for DC current from a voltage doubler, which is not how it's configured in the Crack.
