testing a phono stage
« on: July 10, 2015, 03:53:51 PM »
Hi,

Is there a way to test if the phono stage in my integrated amp works without hooking up a record player?

Like a guitar amp just tap the center of the RCA input with your finger.  If its something you have just built from scratch put a multimeter on it first, safety first!

There are relatively cheap inverse RIAA modules that would allow you to connect a CD player to a phono input.

It's a sony integrated amp.  I tapped the rcas and they made a little noise.  Guess it's good!  Thanks,
