When listening to my system one of the speakers went blank; no sound. Ended up swapping the 2A3's and in doing so, the 'no sound' speaker also swapped sides. Bought and installed 2 new 'Sovtec 2A3's Golden Dragons' and found the same problem. Swapping these tubes also swapped the 'no sound' speaker. Soo . . what am I missing? Added the Soft Start Circuitry to the Paramount's a couple of years ago and added a new circuit board to my Foreplay lll a few month ago with order #100211.

First check the tube sockets to make sure they make good contact with the pins, they can loosen over time.
do 1 new and 1 old work as a set? do the filaments light up on the non working tubes?...John

I responded earlier but deleted it after re-reading your description of the problem. But I must admit I'm still confused. Is one amp consistently silent no matter if you use the stock or new tubes?  I suppose it's possible that you were unlucky and got one bad tube with the new pair you ordered. Someone here can help you verify the tubes with your multimeter. But if one amp is consistently not working the thing to do is post any voltages that aren't in spec.

That tends to indicate a tube.

You have the possibility now of having two tubes that you believe are working (though they are different brands).  Try them both together.
