I played with the dac tonight. The bbatt dac sounds better than the ac dac. I guess that should be obvious or these guys wouldn't put it out. But it's always nice to hear for yourself.
So I compared the squeezebox with digital mods to Mac mini to oppo bdp 103. Mac mini won hands down. Oppo was so similar to squeezebox both running tidal. It lets me ditch the squeezebox in favor of the oppo for tidal. What was interesting is the bdp 103 built in dac is surprisingly good when comparing the Bottlehead dac to the analog out of the bdp. The BH dac was slightly cleaner than the bdp internal dac using tidal. However the same song through tidal on my Mac mini was clearly better. Fwiw
