My crack + speedball has been going strong for a year or more (love it, listening to Charlie Haden play the bass right now). I am interested in doing the volume attenuation mod to get more range out of the volume pot, I barely get a quarter turn out of it now before it's too loud. So... I'm cheap and I have a bag of Radio Shack 1/4 watt resistors. I don't want to order 4 resistors and pay $12 shipping. And Radio Shack by me doesn't carry any actual discrete components anymore. And the local electronics store closed when the owner retired.
I have the 33K ohm resistors, but I do not have any 75K ohm. The pack does have both 68K and 82K. Would either or both of these work? They're 5% tolerance, I would be sure to pick a couple that are as close to each other as possible. I assume the answer is "either" but I wasn't 100% sure how critical the resistance was. I can follow directions and I can solder after a fashion, but I wasn't really paying attention in Electronics class.
Thanks,
Rich
