Submissive good match?
« on: May 28, 2016, 07:34:54 AM »
Hi,  I'm thinking about eliminating my active preamp from the chain and wondering if the Submissive will be a good match.

I have a source that's 75Ω 2VRMS, and the amp is a 300B tube amp (has a 100KΩ resistor to ground at the signal input).  Would the Submissive be a good match?

Also, if I get the Submissive, the interconnects I would be using are 3.3ft each (i.e. 1m from DAC to submissive and 1m from Submissive to amp). The cables have these specs: Z: 55Ω, capacitance: 98pF, R Signal: 0.065Ω, R Ground: 0.008Ω. Would these work well?

Thanks!

That all sounds like it ought to work fine. A little bit lower cable capacitance might be nice, but what you have will probably be fine too.
